A balanced senior attack led Class 3A, No. 3 Washburn to a comfortable victory over No. 7 Austin in a battle of top 10 teams in Minneapolis. Seniors Dwight Anderson, Joseph Doby and Charles Smith combined for 54 points for the Millers, led by a season-high 22 from Smith. Sophomore Dejon Davis added 10 for Washburn, while Austin junior Joe Aase led everybody with 23.
Closer but never close....Millers were the better team. As for running out of gas. It was an evening game and Austin should have been well rested. Heck these same kids play two-three tournament games in a day all summer long.

This was a much closer game than the final score indicated. It was 70-66 with just over 3 minutes to go and Washburn closed out the game on a 17-1 run when Austin ran out of gas after playing a tough game Friday night.
