Bloomington Kennedy at No. 6 Lakeville North
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28

Two of the top three teams in the South Suburban Conference renew acquaintances Tuesday night at Lakeville North. Both are coming off losses to Wisconsin-based teams in their most recent games, as Kennedy fell to Milwaukee Riverside 81-61 and North lost to Stevens Point 76-58 in the Breakdown’s Border Battle. They’re looking for redemption. Kennedy has already surpassed last year’s victory total on the strength of four returning starters, including athletic Dejon Davis (19.7 ppg) and Connell Lewis (18.3 ppg). Can the Eagles slow down Xavier-bound J.P. Macura (33.0 ppg)? That’s the question all foes have when meeting North, which has seen its senior shooter score as many as a career-high 55 points and at least 40 points another four times. He’s hit for at least 36 points in four straight games, scoring 51 at Rosemount, 42 against Prior Lake, 39 at Lakeville South and 36 against Stevens Point.
