No. 10 Minnetonka at No. 7 Robbinsdale Armstrong

MN Boys' Basketball Hub Spotlight Game

Outside of a pair of losses to Champlin Park, Robbinsdale Armstrong has been nearly perfect this season. It’s an impressive start for coach Greg Miller’s team, which graduated eight key seniors from last year’s 19-win team, three of whom went on to play college ball (Mitchell Biewen, Konner Goettsche and Nick O’Hara). How have the Falcons done it? Balanced scoring and the rise of key youngsters from whom much was expected. Juniors Sean Burns (12.5 ppg), Jerome Dixon (15.4 ppg), Evan Nolan (15.4 ppg) and Tre Tate (4.6 ppg) have exploded, while senior Ryan Casperson (11.6 ppg) has given Armstrong a solid inside presence but is still able to step out and drill the trey. Sophomore tough guy guard Melvin Newbern (9.2 ppg) has also been a welcome addition to the rotation. That youth will be tested with a visit from Minnetonka, which is deep and is on a five-game winning streak.
