No. 2 Hopkins at No. 10 Minnetonka
7 p.m, Tuesday, Jan. 28

Both teams are 2-0 in the Lake Conference entering Tuesday night’s game at Minnetonka, which should put one in the driver’s seat in the conference by evening’s end. Hopkins is the favorite, as the second-ranked Royals are a dynasty that has won six state titles in the past 11 years and are currently ranked No. 2 in the state. Hopkins has a fast-paced and explosive offense that averages 90.3 points per game, a mark it reached even in its only loss of the year (96-90 to top-ranked Apple Valley on Dec. 10). Six Royals average in double-figures, led by sharpshooter Jake Wright (17.9 ppg) and Stephon Sharp (16.0 ppg) and budding superstar Amir Coffey (14.9 ppg). Minnetonka has won five straight with its own high-powered and balanced offense that features five double-figure scorers, anchored by Delshon Strickland (15.5 ppg) and Seth Coatta (14.4 ppg).
