No. 7-1A Maranatha Christian at Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity
7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23

Maranatha Christian Academy hasn’t slowed down despite losing two starters to graduation and a key reserve to transfer off of last year’s 31-victory team. Coach Jeffrey Wall has built a powerhouse program that rolls on through the years, as he has 543 victories in 31 seasons. Junior forward Jeremiah Hanson (23.8 ppg) is a terrific 3-point shooter but his all-around game has grown. Hanson is part of a strong junior class that includes Cameron Monson (12.4 ppg) and Jake Meyen (12.9 ppg). Senior Josh Goldschmidt (11.8 ppg) has committed to Lake Superior State. Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity has its trio of stars in seniors Nick Machemehl (23.8 ppg), Spencer Radtke (13.4 ppg) and Alex Heigl (5.0 ppg), each of whom plays a different role. Machemehl is the shooter, Heigl the distributor and Radtke provides the toughness and size.
