Minneapolis Patrick Henry

vs. Minneapolis Washburn

7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23

This matchup will be the third Minneapolis City Conference game in a week for both Minneapolis Patrick Henry and Minneapolis Washburn, a stretch that has seen both teams solidify their positions in the conference standings just behind Minneapolis North.

The Patriots (8-7, 3-1) snapped a three-game losing streak on Jan. 19 with a 63-60 win over Minneapolis South. With a win Tuesday, Patrick Henry would separate itself from the pack and remain within striking distance of the league title.

Scoring is done by committee for the Patriots, with six players averaging between seven and 11 points. Junior Rashaud Rollins leads the offense, averaging 10.9 ppg, while players such as Glentrell Carter (9.3 ppg) and Devon Johnson (7 ppg) have shown the ability to step up and score with 15 and 14 points, respectively, in the win over the Tigers.

The Millers (6-8, 2-2) have been on a slide recently, but have shown their offensive potential throughout the season, particularly in a 99-69 win against Richfield early in December. Senior Terrell Adams leads Washburn with 17.3 ppg, while freshman Cade Haskins (11.9 ppg) is already contributing with solid numbers. If the Millers can get the offense back on track, they will have a great chance to move up in the conference standings and join the Patriots in second place.
