Totino-Grace vs.

Brooklyn Center

7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13

It has been a rough start to the season for Totino-Grace, losing to Benilde-St. Margaret's 69-60 and No. 7-3A Austin 72-53 in the opening week. However, despite not yet recording a win on the season, the No. 8-3A Eagles (0-2) should not be overlooked.

Senior guard Charlie Jacob is playing well and averaging 14.5 points per game, and the roster fields plenty of experience, including Nick Flottmeier, who has increased his production from six points per game last year to 11.5 in the early going this season.

Time is on Totino-Grace's side, and the Eagles will know it. The season is long and a victory against a quality opponent like Brooklyn Center could be the catalyst Totino-Grace needs to get on the winning track.

The No. 6-2A Centaurs have had a very different start to the season, ripping off four straight wins coming into Wednesday's contest.

Sophomore Lu'Cye Patterson is back after a stellar freshman season, leading Brooklyn Center in points (24), assists (6.7) and steals (3) per game.

Momentum is with the Centaurs coming into this contest, and if Patterson can win the guard matchup on both ends of the floor, Brooklyn Center has a real chance of starting the season a perfect 5-0.
