Chaska at Bloomington Jefferson
7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14

The Metro West Conference has been a two-team show with Chaska and Bloomington Jefferson as the only squads with winning league records.

The No. 17-4A Hawks aim to knock the No. 18-4A Jaguars from atop the league standings by avenging a 60-57 loss on Jan. 20.

Chaska was shorthanded that game, playing with only six players in the rotation, and fell behind early. Columbia commit Myles Hanson brought the Hawks to within one point with 20 seconds left but the team couldn't complete the comeback. Hanson finished the night with a game-high 33 points and leads Chaska at 23.9 points per game.

The return of starting guard Alex Strazzanti and Ryan Rodriguez should give the Hawks (14-5, 7-1) more balance against a deep Jaguars bench.

Bloomington Jefferson (16-3, 8-0) has won its past nine games, including a 65-63 win against No. 15-4A Edina on Jan. 27. Six-foot-8 Tyler Riemersma (19.5 ppg) has averaged 26.2 ppg since the upset of the Hornets.
