Springfield at Red Rock Central
6:15 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14

Red Rock Central was unranked in the Class 1A preseason poll but has climbed to No. 8 in the most recent rankings. The Falcons will risk that position in their toughest matchup this season -- Tuesday's game with No. 7-1A Springfield.

Red Rock Central won 15 straight games before falling 51-49 to Renville County West on Jan. 30. Since then, the Falcons (19-1, 14-0) have gotten back to winning, taking four straight on the shoulders of a quartet of four-year letterwinners.

Luke Engen and Trevor Pederson average roughly 14 points per game as the team’s leading scorers, and the frontcourt duo is also good on the glass. Engen is averaging 12 rebounds per game to Pederson's eight. Juniors Brady Rasmussen and Sam Hansen have played on the varsity team since eighth grade and provide solid experience for the Falcons.

Six-foot-3 sophomore dynamo Isaac Fink has carried the Tigers (18-2, 13-0) this season, leading his team in several categories (22.1 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 5.7 apg, 3.1 spg). Kale Meendering (16.6 ppg) and Tanner Vogel (14.4 ppg) are viable shooters Fink can pass the ball to when he's double-covered.
