Maple Grove at Hopkins
7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14

The premiere game of Saturday's Super 60 Showcase, Maple Grove versus Hopkins is sure to keep fans hanging around to watch two of Class 4A's top teams and two potential state tournament contenders.

The No. 7-4A Royals (9-2, 0-1) has the luxury of playing on their home floor, where they’ve yet to lose this season. Hopkins, however, will be playing 24 hours after visiting No. 4-4A Wayzata in a Lake Conference clash on Friday.

Ishmael El-Amin averages 22.9 points per game for Hopkins, but his biggest contribution may come on defense as he will likely guard Maple Grove star Brad Davison  and try to force the Wisconsin commit to work hard at both ends of the floor.

Last time Maple Grove (6-1, 1-1) played at the Lindbergh Center, Davison sank the game-winner as time expired to give the No. 2-4A Crimson a 67-64 victory over No. 1-3A DeLaSalle on Dec. 10.
