Shakopee at Bloomington Jefferson
7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6

This matchup is the first step for two programs trying to assess where they fit in the Class 4A, Section 2 landscape.

Bloomington Jefferson is hoping to solidify itself as a top-four seed for the playoffs, while Shakopee wants to prove its still a force in the post-Steffon Mitchell era.

The Jaguars begin their quest for not only success in the section tournament but also state notoriety led by forwards Tyler Riemersma (14.5 ppg) and Jack Tillotson (9.9 ppg), along with guard Joe Hird (11.4 ppg).

What the Sabers seek may be a bit more difficult considering they not only graduated their leading scorer (Mitchell) but also three more of their top five point producers. That absence should allow senior Jake Kutina (7.8 ppg) to become a vital scorer at the wing.
