Minneapolis North at St. Paul Central
7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4

The leaders of the Minneapolis City and St. Paul City Conferences battle this week as No. 1-1A Minneapolis North visits St. Paul Central on Thursday.

While the hosting Minutemen (13-3, 6-0) are having an outstanding season, they will have their work cut out for them against the Polars, one of the state's most talented teams.

North (18-4, 9-0) has just four losses on the season, with three coming against ranked Class 4A teams and the other to Pebblebrook, a Georgia school with an enrollment over 3,000.

The Polars' starters are averaging double figures in scoring, led by senior guard Tyler Johnson (16.3 ppg).

Central counters with senior forward Sam Gubbrud, who averages 21.7 ppg.

North recorded an 81-64 win in last year's matchup.
