Orono at New Prague
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5

The Wright County Conference East Division may be the state's most competitive league this year, with just two games separating the top four teams heading into the regular season's final stretch.

Orono and New Prague shared the conference title last season, and both are back in the thick of the championship race again this year. They meet Friday hoping to make a move in the standings.

New Prague (15-6, 5-1) currently owns a share of the league lead with Delano and could start pulling away from the pack with a win, but the Trojans have a tough road ahead, including the game at No. 7-3A Orono (15-6, 3-3).

Defense is one of New Prague's strengths, as the Trojans are holding opponents to just 49.3 ppg this season. That prowess was on display in a 58-56 win over the Spartans on Jan. 12 as New Prague limited Orono's leading scorer, senior guard Alexander Kill (14.2 ppg), to just two points.

Senior forward Lucas Walford, who is averaging a team-high 14.3 ppg, helped fuel the Trojans' win with a season-high 28 points.
