Fresh off a fourth-place finish at the Class 2A state tournament, Maple River (14-2) is looking poised to make another run this year.

The Eagles will find out how prepared they are for postseason play when hosting current Class 2A, Section 2 leader St. Peter (13-3).

After earning a six seed in last season's section tournament, the Saints are in line for a much higher seed. They lead their subsection with a 9-1 record against section foes.

A key to St. Peter's success has been its depth, which was on display in last Friday's win over St. James as 10 different Saints found the scoring column, highlighted by junior guard Jordein Marquette's 17-point performance.

Maple River pushed its winning streak to five games with a 70-40 win over Bethlehem Academy on Friday. Senior guard Brandon Sohre was on fire from the floor, finishing with a game-high 31 points.
