Rushford-Peterson at Caledonia
7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21

The Three Rivers Conference East Division boasts two heavyweight programs in Rushford-Peterson and Caledonia, and they are set to square off Thursday in the first of two league matchups.

The No. 5-1A Trojans (11-4, 9-1) are the reigning Class 1A champion and have made four consecutive state tournament appearances. They have also won the league title three years in a row.

The No. 2-2A Warriors (15-1, 10-0) finished second in last year's Class 2A state tournament and took third two years ago. With a win Thursday, Caledonia can take a two-game lead over Rushford-Peterson in the division standings.

The Trojans will need to bring their "A" game on the defensive end, as the Warriors average 82 ppg and are led by sophomore guard Owen King (20.5 ppg), senior forward Gavin Schroeder (14.4 ppg) and senior guard Colton Lampert (13.2 ppg).
