DeLaSalle at Eden Prairie
7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5

It has been a season of heartbreak for Eden Prairie, and the schedule doesn't lighten up for the Eagles to start the new year.

Eden Prairie (6-6) faces as No. 1-3A DeLaSalle on Tuesday, the second of three games against ranked opponents in a week for the Eagles. Eden Prairie lost to No. 4-4A Shakopee 77-72 on Saturday and follow the Islanders' game with Lake Conference clash against No. 8-4A Wayzata on Friday.

Each of the Eagles' six losses have come in games decided by five points or less, and they could be in for another close game in a matchup against a DeLaSalle team that appears to have gotten back on track with a three-game winning streak after dropping three of its first five games.

The four-time reigning Class 3A champion Islanders (5-3) continue to churn out quality basketball players, and Eden Prairie should have its hands full attempting to defend Islanders' leading scorers Gabe Kalscheur (24.2 ppg) and Goanar Mar (18.4 ppg).
