White Bear Lake at Centennial

White Bear Lake looks to bounce back after a tough start to the season.

The No. 7-4A Bears (0-2) dropped contests to No. 4-4A Eastview (60-31) and No. 15-4A Lakeville North (61-56) at the Pat Paterson Thanksgiving Tournament held Nov. 27-28 at Hamline University.

Senior guard and White Bear Lake's No. 1 option Alison Hinck (15.3 ppg last season) anchors a team that reached the Class 4A state tournament and finished with a 22-8 record last year.

Centennial is coming off its second straight state tournament appearance, but there are questions the No. 6-4A Cougars need to answer.

Maybe the most important is who will fill the void left by the graduation of last season's leading scorer Jaycie Gerding (15.8 ppg)? Centennial brings back nine players -- none of them seniors -- who averaged at least 2.0 ppg.
