Elk River at Hopkins
Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic
7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5

Hopkins is already averaging 80.5 points per game as it starts its Class 4A state title defense.

Picking up right where she left off last season when she averaged 15.9 ppg, senior Nia Hollie scored 13 and 26 points in the Royals' first two games and will be the dominant force on a highly potent offense.

Hollie is headed to Michigan State next season, and the next opponent for No. 1-4A Hopkins (2-0) also features a Big Ten-bound player.

No. 3-4A Elk River is led by Northwestern commit Abi Scheid. The senior averaged 18.4 ppg last season, which ended with the team's third straight loss in the Class 4A, Section 8 finals to St. Michael-Albertville.

With the teams' high rankings and legitimate Division I talent, expect this to be one of Hopkins' toughest nonconference tests of the year.
