Sauk Centre at Dover-Eyota
Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic
6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5

Dover-Eyota (0-1) got off on the wrong foot this season with a 69-56 loss to No. 8-2A Minnehaha Academy on Nov. 28.

While the Eagles have two nice scorers in seniors Megan Hintz and Madison Nelson, they must replace the scoring of last year's standout Brandi Blattner to defend the title.

Sauk Centre begins the season on Dec. 1 against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle before heading to the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic and the rematch with Dover-Eyota.

Outside of budding star Maesyn Thiesen, the No. 3-2A Mainstreeters have seniors Rebecca Weir and Madison Greenwaldt, junior Jill Klaphake and sophomore Kelsey Peschel, who all logged significant minutes in last season's state tournament.

Returning talent combined with a recent big-game history make this early season Class 2A showdown a must-see.
