Minnetonka at Apple Valley
6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28

Gary Trent Jr. hasn't let his father's professional career overshadow him as the junior forward has made a name for himself. Trent led Class 4A champion Apple Valley in scoring last season with 21.2 points per game.

He is surrounded by a talented supporting cast with 7-foot senior center Brock Bertram (13.3 ppg), senior guard Jordan Bolton (13.2 ppg), senior forward Cameron Kirksey (10.5 ppg) and sophomore guard Jones (8.2 ppg) returning.

Minnetonka coach Chris Carr inherits some experience as well. Senior guard Amar Miller is back after leading the team with 22.0 ppg last season. Senior guards Seth Coetta (17.7 ppg) and Cedric Boone (12.9 ppg) should also provide a boost offensively.

Last year, Minnetonka finished the regular season with the state's third-highest point total (2,216), while Apple Valley was not far behind at sixth (2,152). It came as no surprise that last season's matchup was a shootout won by the Eagles 106-81.

Carr will need to find an answer for Trent, who exploded for a season-high 42 points against the Skippers last season.
