Apple Valley started its season on a good note with a 90-73 win over Chaska on Nov. 22. The Eagles (1-0) try to record another victory over another Metro West Conference opponent when they host Chanhassen.

Junior guard Jordan Bolton had an excellent season debut as he scored a game-high 23 points in the opener for Apple Valley, ranked No. 1 in the Class 4A preseason poll.

Senior forward Joey Witthus, who averaged a team-leading 22.8 points per game in the regular season, should provide plenty of scoring for coach Nathan Pelowski's team.
